Whales of Arcadia is a literary magazine that appreciates literature, classicism, and art.

We are seeking submissions for our first issue. 

Submission Guidelines:

• Poetry: Please submit up to 5 poems (maximum 10 pages)
• Fiction: Please submit 1 short story or 3 flash fiction per time. We do not publish genre fiction. 
• Non-Fiction: submissions should not exceed 6000 words.
• Submit your work as a single document in either .docx or .pdf.

• We accept simultaneous submissions. Please let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere.
• We only accept unpublished work.
• Please submit your work via submittable

Whales of Arcadia Writing Competition

Dear Writers,

We are pleased to be chosen as this year’s recipient, Victoria Lynnette. Victoria is an emerging writer from California. Her poem, Christmas Tea House, will be published at the end of February, along with our finalists’ work.

We also want to congratulate all of the writers who entered; we received many outstanding poems and short stories. Our only regret is that there can only be one winner. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
